Vehicle registration certificate (STS) is the same “pink plastic document” without which you have no right to drive a car. Fastest option — make an appointment with the traffic police through “Gosuslugi” for the near future (usually there are windows for the next day). If you need temporary permit to drive a car, it will be issued immediately upon submission of documents - it is valid 30 days.
If you are not in your region, you can restore STS in any branch of the Russian State Traffic Safety Inspectorate. The main thing is to have all the documents with you. In this case, the temporary permit is valid until you return home.
What to do if you lost your STS abroad?
If you have lost your STS in another country, you can only restore it through the Russian consulate or upon return. Temporary permits are not issued abroad! To avoid problems with the local police, carry with you:
1. A copy of the STS (even black and white).
2. MTPL policy with vehicle data.
