FAQ: answers to frequently asked questions
Do you need special physical training to climb?
Basic training is required. The route includes a 3-kilometer climb with an elevation difference of ~300 m. If you exercise 2-3 times a week (running, gym, cycling), there will be no problems. For beginners, we recommend that you first complete a 10-kilometer walking route with a backpack weighing 5–7 kg.
Is it possible to visit the colts with children?
The official age limit is 12 years, but in practice it all depends on the child’s preparation. Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult on the rocky area. We recommend choosing a calm day and taking a harness (can be rented at Bashkir tourist center in Ufa).
Are there toilets or rest areas along the route?
No. The last toilet is at the “Tourist” cordon. There is only one rest shelter on the trail (coordinates: 53.8089° N. latitude, 57.8278° east. d.). Take wet wipes and a garbage bag with you.
Is it possible to make a fire on the top?
Absolutely not. In rocky areas, this is not only prohibited by the park rules, but also extremely dangerous - the wind can carry sparks for kilometers. For cooking, use a gas burner (e.g. Campingaz Bleuet).
What to do if you get lost?
Stay where you are if you are unsure of the route. Call the rescue service at 112 (works even without connection if the phone catches any network). Turn on battery saving mode and use a whistle to give signals (3 short ones - SOS). Don't try to descend in the dark!
